lulla by bindya ombre polka scarf

these lovelies stopped me dead in my tracks on friday. i fell hard for the sumptuous ombre dyed wool-silk speckled with silver foil and the surprisingly friendly price point. i had to separate myself from the situation before i snapped up all four on the spot. now that i’ve mulled it over, i’ve decided that i’m going for the green.

or maybe the orange.

aw, hell.

$58 at anthropologie.

thursday purseday + my new gig

it’s only fitting that i announce my next career move today and you’ll soon see why : )

after navigating the long and windy graduate school road and receiving my mba last month, i wanted nothing more than to pursue a profession that fits my passion. i am thrilled to tell you that in just a few short weeks, i will start an exciting opportunity with my longtime favorite brand, hobo international. i will be managing sales to independent retailers (ie super fabulous boutiques) in the mid-atlantic region and i. can. not. WAIT!

for starters, i have had an intense love affair with these handbags for over ten years now. they are the real deal – high quality materials, awesome hardware, gorgeous linings and bunches of pockets to keep you organized. i am over the moon for the little family of seven that i’ve got living in my closet to grow and grow beyond all ridiculousness and reason!

as if i could become any more of a bag lady? lord help us.

in all seriousness, i am chomping at the bit to begin representing hobo from new jersey to dc. i am looking forward to hitting the road and meeting all of the incredible boutique owners who share the hobo love in their darling shops and i will most certainly be sharing my adventures right here on the glossarie.

in honor of thursday purseday, here are a few of my most favorite hobo bags:

the incredibly versatile eydie in citrus, $288

the super stunning done deal in taupe, $388

the due course in ocean with zipper detailing to die for, $268

cool, convertible zara in caramel, $118

it’s almost too much pretty to handle! i’ll keep you posted as things unfold, but fear not, the glossarie is not going anywhere. however, if you’re hankering for a new obsession, take a peek at hobo on facebook and twitter. you might just catch my fever!

tuesday shoesday: seychelles anthology gladiator

i live for seychelles footwear. they reign queen of the everyday shoe and for as long as i can remember i’ve scoured the shelves at nordstrom rack looking for low-priced pairs of this beloved brand – they’re my favorite, favorite.

it’s no surprise that this season i’ve been totally lusting the “golden grove” sandals at anthropologie. something about the cool shape, gorgeous beading, and back zipper make them unlike anything else in my closet. it was love at first click, but i fell deeper after closer inspection when i discovered they’re by seychelles (dubbed the anthology gladiator everywhere else but anthro).

and then i discovered that they were $90.

until today.

the golden grove sandals are now on sale for $49.95 at anthropologie and still available in all sizes.

little bow peep

bows are totally having a moment and while i admit to being super girly, i’ve never been one for lots of fluff and frills. i also think if you’re not careful, something with bows can look childish. however, if done correctly, bows can be a super sweet way to accessorize so here are two ways to safely sport the trend, from head to toe:

at $15 i can’t think of a better way to adorn your ballerina bun than these sparkly little bobby pins from anthropologie

and something about the glossy patent leather and perfect nude color on the dv by dolce vita dakota sandal makes me think that these would go with, oh, just about every last thing in my closet.

have you seen bows popping up all over? any other bow-dacious looks you’re loving? tell me below!

let’s wrap: the scarf necklace

i am completely smitten with this new wrap/jewelry hybrid at anthropologie. behold, the voluminous scarf necklace:

{top to bottom: natural, mauve, rust}

the color combos are simply stunning (the rust is a must see in person) but i’m loving the natural one for its versatility and those awesome wood beads. the fluffy combination of linen and modal gives this pretty extra volume so that it always falls just right. how unique and gorgeous!

is this wonder of an accessory blowing your mind as much as it is mine? the voluminous scarf necklace is available in all three styles at anthropologie for the very pleasant price of $38.

thursday purseday: spring fling

top to bottom: asos boxy flat lock clutch / banana republic stone bow clutch / the sak classic crochet wristlet

it’s april tomorrow! my birthday month and last month as a graduate student, among other things, but also hopefully the month that pretty weather will return to dc and wherever you lovely people are. unless it’s already spring there and then i’m jealous. can you please tell me what the sun looks like? i’ve forgotten. but anyway, while the sun continues to hide behind gloominess around these parts, i am craving summer brights and love the look of these three unique candy-colored clutches. you’ll be happy to know that they range in price from $17 – $79 and they are definitely options that could carry you beyond the warmer months. i think the classic sak wristlet might be my favorite. and at $17, i’m not sure i can hold back!

if you’re coveting a purse, pocketbook, clutch, wallet, wristlet or handbag on this fine thursday purseday, link it up down below. i’d also love to know what’s on your accessory wish list for this upcoming season. sunnies? scarves? sandals? bangles? share!

in lieu of green, garden florals

happy saint patrick’s day!

i hope you’ll forgive me for forgoing the obligatory green makeup post. i want to celebrate the amazing weather we’re experiencing in dc with an ode to garden florals. here are a few pretty blossoms that have caught my eye and will surely translate spring’s girliest trend into season:

top to bottom: guerlain meteorites illuminating & mattifying pressed powder in teint rose, $56; sunday market tunic, $154; gorjana jade stud earrings, $50

what do you think: will you opt for blooms and bouquets this spring? do tell!

also – just a little note to let you know that the glossarie will be quiet tomorrow in participation with one amazing blogger project: for japan with love. tons of bloggers (who have already raised over $12,000 to impact relief efforts!) will pledge their support in silence and i am honored to be among them.

hope you all have an amazing weekend!

thursday purseday

(fear not, for i haven’t forgotten to commemorate the very *best* day of the week!)

when i spied the candy buckle clutch in anthro’s most recent catalog all i could think to myself was “please don’t be $300, please don’t be $300…” but wouldn’t ya know, it’s $300.  however, that’s the beauty of a blog. i can post it here to share with you and it’s almost as fulfilling as buying one.

almost.

i will acknowledge that i’ve been extremely clutch-happy lately with the thursday purseday posts, but at least this one is a slight advancement with its long cross-body chain option, right?

the supple leather pouch with the apple green resin buckle and super cool crisscross lining is available exclusively online at anthropologie for $298.
