i haven’t seen the likes of the easter bunny in well over a decade, but if his hippity hop highness were to pay me a visit i would love to see these treats hidden inside my basket – or, better yet, tucked into this holographic bag from sephora.

happy easter sunday to you!
happy international women’s day, beauties!
to celebrate the day, i am pleased to announce a new initiative from bobbi brown cosmetics. the brand is launching its first ever charitable initiative: the pretty powerful campaign for women and girls. the worldwide movement is dedicated to empowering women and girls with education, resources, job skills and work experience and will aim to help them “be who they are.” the campaign will raise funds through the sale of a limited-edition pretty powerful pot rouge ($25) and via globalgiving.org. in the u.s., every cent of the proceeds from sales of the pretty powerful pot rouge will go to dress for success, which bobbi has worked with for years.
i love bobbi’s pot rouge – it’s a makeup bag essential for both lips and cheeks and i absolutely love the way that it blends. i always feel like it brings out a natural-looking flush, but i can’t get enough of this new universally flattering pink shade. the pretty little pot is the perfect way to update your look for spring while supporting an important cause.

nicole and i met at the ifb conference in 2012 and it was beauty love at first sight. she is a super talented make up artist (she did my face for my head shots that you see around the blog) and an all around sweet-as-sugar girl. nicole’s beauty expertise comes through clearly through her #lipbomb! like most of you, we definitely share an affinity for the three b’s: bobbi brown, bite, and burt’s bees. i miss her terribly since she and her hubby made the move back to nyc, but i’m happy to say that we keep in touch through the ‘net and have even managed to connect in the big city on one of my many business trips. i highly recommend that you take a journey over to nicole’s blog for a full dose of beauty and fashion goodness!
i love seeing your #lipbombs, so please keep sending them to theglossarie@gmail.com.

i’m in nyc for another week of trade show fun and, as often as i do it, i like to think i’ve perfected the art of beauty travel. these are just a few things that make toting my makeup a more pleasurable experience and a couple of little luxuries that keep me calm and looking put together while i’m away from home:
brush protectors, $8 – these mesh sleeves help my makeup brushes to keep their shape and also protect them from harmful bacteria. they’re reusable and they come in all the right sizes.
pencil case, $33 – perfect for keeping lip products in check. stephanie’s sumatra print never fails to put a smile on my face!
small cosmetic, $38 – just the right size to hold my daily routine. i can easily throw it in my suitcase or in my purse for when i need the essentials handy.
la fresh beauty wipes, $5.25 – makeup remover, face cleanser, polish remover, body soother and hand sanitizer: everything you need in small, disposable doses.
bobbi brown empties, $15 – i can fit five days worth of product into these baby bottles. best of all? no leaks!
body wash caps, $0.80 – single use capsules in fourteen scents, now why didn’t I think of that?
this works deep sleep stress less, $22 – an aromatherapy blend that promotes restful sleep. a godsend for anyone who doesn’t get the best rest away from home.
do you have anything that makes traveling a little easier?

i was swooning over a friend’s flawless eyeliner the other night (dark, dramatic, and very close to the lash), so i obviously forced her to dish her beauty secret. turns out she’s been using bobbi brown’s long-wear gel eyeliner, so i immediately picked it up for myself in caviar ink, a deep black/brown.
this thick, luxurious liner comes in a little gel pot and using the accompanying brush, i’m able to apply it with ease and control to create either a dramatic cat-eye or an everyday tight lined look. i love that it appears dark and almost permanent but is such a breeze to put on. it’s also super easy to adjust while you’re applying, which is important for those slightly less skilled in the liquid liner application process like myself. most importantly, it doesn’t budge! gone are the days of liners that look great the first hour after application, only to smudge or wear away mid-day. hallelujah!
i’m thinking that this is one of the greats and that it’s no wonder this eyeliner already has such a strong following. if you’re not already on board, snatch up bobbi brown’s long-wear gel eyeliner here for $22.
