i cannot get enough of the simple chicness of the white nail trend. yes, at first it reminded me of the days when i used to paint my nails in white out (yes, i was the girl painting her nails with white out during study hall…then drawing flowers on them with a sharpie. what can i say? it was the pre-teen nail art of the 90′s.), but i have overcome my own white nail prejudices and i’m totally loving the trend. there is something so impossibly elegant about the finished look and i’m extra excited to wear it when i’ve got a bit more a sunkissed glow going. thankfully the brands are on board, and you can score white nail polish at both the department store and the drugstore:
i met marissa a couple of weeks ago when she and her team were sweet enough to treat me and several other bloggers to an insanely delicious tasting menu at brasserie beck before the gilt warehouse sale. marissa is a doll and she is flawlessly stunning. we instantly got to chatting about beauty, so when she expressed interest in sharing her #lipbomb, i jumped at the chance to feature her. marissa’s lip bomb is im-pressive! this lady totes a lot of lip product in her bag on the daily and she clearly plays favorites, carrying multiple products from nars and bobbi brown. i’ve got my eye on the baby benetint and the mentha lip shine – looks i’ll be making a couple of additions to my #lipbomb thanks to marissa!

yesterday was a doozy. why the whole week can go swimmingly just for friday to come along and knock you on the head never fails to baffle me! i’m taking it easy today and soaking in the joy from these five sweetly simple things:
i absolutely adore cait! her blog, pretty & fun, was one of my first and favorite discoveries on the ‘net. she and i finally connected in person at ifb a couple of years ago. i was completely taken by her bright, sweet personality and her most perfect top knot. she is an absolute doll and she is always rocking a flawlessly stunning bold lip. let’s just say that i’m taking some very careful notes on her #lipbomb.
quite the savvy little #lipbomb, here. i love that jen doubled up on the covergirl and revlon lips – both are dynamite if you haven’t tried. (and i’m totally adding anemone to my list!) there’s a lot of flavor in this group, too – everything from mint to vanilla cola, to berry x 2. a great and very affordable group. thanks for sharing, jen!
nicole and i met at the ifb conference in 2012 and it was beauty love at first sight. she is a super talented make up artist (she did my face for my head shots that you see around the blog) and an all around sweet-as-sugar girl. nicole’s beauty expertise comes through clearly through her #lipbomb! like most of you, we definitely share an affinity for the three b’s: bobbi brown, bite, and burt’s bees. i miss her terribly since she and her hubby made the move back to nyc, but i’m happy to say that we keep in touch through the ‘net and have even managed to connect in the big city on one of my many business trips. i highly recommend that you take a journey over to nicole’s blog for a full dose of beauty and fashion goodness!
name: olivia hayward internet home: olivia is the talented designer + entrepreneuress behind mane message she says: crazy that all of these lip products are constantly with me! i feel like some of these rotate in and out, but a few are true staples. number of products: 9 the bomb:
now, i have never met olivia but i know that we would be fast friends. i have loved and adored this girl since discovering her impeccably designed and incredibly well edited line of bracelet hair ties two years ago. she started her successful e-commerce and wholesale brand in her college dorm room and it has developed into something that’s been recognized by some of the industry greats. it has been amazing to watch her grow!
a true beauty addict, her #lipbomb is impressive for two reasons: 1) olivia obviously plays favorites – nars, buxom, and revlon are each represented multiple times (meaning she clearly believes in those brands, i love the loyalty) and 2) she’s got some limited edition shades in the mix that are no longer available (a girl after my own heart).
this is definitely not the last that we will be seeing of olivia or mane message on this here blog – i’m so thrilled to feature her #lipbomb today!
ever since pantone named emerald the color of the year for 2013, greens have been everywhere from teals and kellies to jades and shamrocks. i love the way that kermit’s favorite color has been popping up in fashion, but working this hue into your beauty routine can be a bit trickier. polish is an obvious choice (the best, in my opinion!), so here are six ways to get your nails on trend:
not because another year has passed me by at lightning speed. not because i still don’t know what i’m going to wear tonight (or more importantly, what color i’m going to paint my nails), but because i am consumed with concern over how i’m going to pack my itty bitty bag for this evening’s festivities.
when carrying a small bag, i am very picky about what i pack, putting every inch of that precious real estate to excellent use. tonight is like the super bowl of clutch packing – the marathon hours of celebrating and venue hopping call for keeping a complicated survival kit on hand. here’s what made the cut:
i always need to mattify after a spin on the dance floor.
this mini sized make up for ever hd microfinish powder is clutch-friendly
at half the price (and i just toss in a disposable powder puff for application).
a mane message hair tie (in stylish black glitter) will inevitably come
in handy when my hair gets pulled back into a ponytail well before midnight.
and last but certainly not least, i should mention that i have been saving the cutest of holiday hobos for new year’s eve. i cannot wait to take this little beauty (whose name is twinkle!) out on the town.
so, do tell…are you carrying a tiny bag tonight? more importantly, what’s inside?
name: kate internet home:kate headley wedding & lifestyle photography she says: carmex is like a drink of water for your lips! it feels so good. i wear the revlon when i’m going out and i need a little something extra. (also, because i gave it to her – and it looks gorgeous on!) number of products: 2 the bomb:
when kate and i were shooting for burberry, she stumbled upon the lip bomb project. of course she leapt at the chance to participate. and minimal it may be, i dare say it’s the prettiest bomb we’ve seen. (she is a professional photog, afterall!) and don’t you love the festive ornament tossed in for added flare? thanks, kate :)
