multitasking mascara0

todiefor

for those unfamiliar, peter thomas roth is a therapeutic skincare line chock full of treatment products specialized for solving wrinkles, redness, brown spots, you name it. ptr has brought his brand to the land of lashes with a new mascara that conditions and softens while it boosts both volume and length. i’m really loving the brilliantly designed brush that delivers nutrition to the shortest fringe without clumping. lashes to die for, indeed.

*you can own a deluxe sample of lashes to die for the mascara with any sephora.com order! code: ptrlab*

gundon’t get excited ladies, it ain’t what you think. it is however, very clever! the new purse bullet by elegant rock fragrance creator, juliette has a gun, is a rechargeable roll-on in a chic little container that’s sure to get people talking. if you’re looking for an edgy way to apply your favorite scented oil, this is a must. each bullet comes with four vials of fragrance oil in your choice of citizen queen (a leathery modern classic), lady vengeance (rich, sophisticated, easy to wear), and miss charming (sensual and shy yet provocative). not for the faint of heart, these are available at lucky scent for $75 and destined to go out with a bang.

cream blush for dummies0

blushwear
prepare yourselves for another beauty confession, my pets: i have a fear of cream blush. well, make that had a fear. i thought i had tried everything under the sun to get over this silly issue of mine until i met clinique’s blushwear cream stick. you see, my problem was application. do i use my fingertips? a brush? so confusing! with clinique, i do three dots in an upside down triangle on each cheek, then smudge and blend. voila! the beautiful dewy cheeks i’ve been chasing with a light and natural finish.

grown up gloss1

bobbi

have i told you that i don’t wear lipstick? shocking, i know. i mean, how can a self-proclaimed beauty obsessee avoid the iconic makeup item that basically launched an industry? well, it is what it is but thankfully gurus like bobbi brown keep my lips looking ladylike without committing to the ‘stick. bobbi’s new rich color gloss is a triple threat that offers the full coverage of a long-last lipstick, the shine of a gloss and the comfort + moisture of a balm. it adds the perfect pop of color to any look and smells minty fresh to boot. i’m a big fan of the doe foot applicator (my favorite way to apply any lip product) and the range of shades to take you from day to night. my picks? pink buff for wear-to-work and pink raspberry to paint the town!

purple reign2

onstage
bellasugar recently shared the makeup color trends for fall according to  color expert, pantone. in these first few days of autumn, my personal fave is jewel-y purple of all shades and tones. i’m already head over heels for clinique’s raisin-hued vitmain c lippie and now i can’t wait to tint my tips  with sephora by opi’s on stage. this creme polish wears different on everyone, is appropriate for warm and cool tones and has one of those fabulous formulas that never streaks. on stage is an updated, more wearable version of last fall’s craze, metro chic, and is sure to look oh-so right against the honey yellows and heather grays of the season.

beginner’s luck0

kitsephora has struck gold with its line of kits ranging from the “lash stash” mascara sampler to “lip service” which contains glosses galore. the latest additions include one “starter kit” collection of top-of-the-line beauty basics. the my first makeup deluxe boasts brands like korres, tarte, and smashbox to name a few and it covers cheeks, lips, lids, and lashes only falling short in the foundation area (a 10-day mini be matte woulda been just the ticket!). this would make a divine gift for the tween in your life or a makeup-challenged mom who could use a little love. at $32, it’s such a steal that if you were interested in trying just two of the products inside, it’s worth the buy for even the most seasoned beauty queen. check out sephora’s entire line of favorites and get a jump on holiday shopping!

fall for a scrub1

bloom scrubmy oldest of besties blogged about autumn this week since she adores the fall and all it brings with. a new englander at heart, i have to say i’m in the same state of mind these days but the one thing that keeps me from jumping for joy at the sight of the leaves turning is knowing that dry winter skin is straight around the corner. lucky for me, i’ve found the most amazing sea salt scrub to keep me exfoliated and moisturized at the same time (yes, it’s possible). enter bloom cosmetics and their super gorgeous tubs of scrub in dreamy flavors like green tea & bergamot, vanilla bean, brown sugar & fig, and french lavendar. bloom considers their line to strike “just the right balance between heritage and hip, poise and playfulness” making their products both innovative and approachable. usually $25 a pop you can get your own on hautelook for just $12.50! (sale lasts 36 hours)

a long wearing liner for $8.990

sonia kashuki love tarjay for millions of reasons, but topping the list have got to be the oodles of finds that look expensive but ring up dirt cheap. sonia kashuk epitomizes this to a tee with her latest release of long-wearing, high-pigment, gel eye liners for $9. (just look at the gorgeousness up there! do they look drugstore to you!?) compare that to beloved bobbi or epic estee and you’re paying three times as much. sonia was even so kind as to create the perfect brush and a stunning quad of shadows to go with. for whatever reason, the liners are not available on the intarweb but you can most certainly find them at your local red bullseye. happy hunting!

do good, feel better1

softhandskindheart
i am a big fan of companies, products, and the cosmetics industry as a whole who really seem to rally behind causes in need to truly give generously. one in particular, who has been doing good since the days when i used to spend my allowance on bath beads and perfume oils (ananya was my fave!), is the body shop. backing campaigns on animal testing, the environment, and self esteem is essential to their business model and their latest efforts are to stop sex trafficking. pick up a tube of soft hands, kind heart hand cream to soften your mitts and show your support. it’s light, yet rich, citrusy, yet floral and for $10 you can make a difference in your skin and the world. not too shabby.

ps – a whole slew of do-gooding products are right around the corner in celebration of national breast cancer awareness month, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for pink goodies from estee lauder, bobbi brown, clinique, and so many more

tweezermanit’s a mascara protector?

yessiree. so forget that old business card trick, because tweezerman’s created a real solution to protect your perfect smoky eye from unwanted mascara smudges. just place this ingenious little device under lower lashes or above the brow bone to preserve your artistry and voila! no more mascara mess.

now, do tell: worth the $8 or will you be keeping your trusty qtips handy because it’s just not that big a deal?
