estee lauder idealist cooling eye illuminator0

hi beauties, happy sunday! are you ready to meet a new miracle worker? gals and guys who struggle with dark undereye circles and puffiness will want to pay close attention to this one.

i have been uncharacteristically busy these past few weeks. over-caffeinating, under-hydrating, running ragged and not getting enough sleep. the consequences are not pretty – ugly, tired eyeballs that are dark and puffy.

in a desperate attempt to fool the outside world into thinking that i am an effortlessly well-rested lady, i have added a new product to my daily routine. i pat a dot of this estee lauder cooling eye illuminator under each eye, over my moisturizer and let it do its thing while i blowdry and straighten my hair in the mornings. the results are crazy insane.

after three weeks of daily use, my eyes look brighter and more rested. shadows and puffiness are gone – refreshed pretty skin is here to stay and i swear it lightened that delicate skin under my eye a full shade.

gotta make some room in the makeup jar, this little tube is sticking around.

amazing face by zoe foster5

{images via design crush}

this is one pretty book –  and not just because it’s about hair and makeup.

amazing face is a gorgeously designed 250 page beauty bible  written by zoe foster who boasts years of experience as the beauty and lifestyle editor at cosmopolitan and the beauty director at harper’s bazaar. it’s hot off the presses as of monday and teaches everything from how to pick perfect shades (shadow, lippies, foundation, you name it!) to skincare and product recommendations regardless of your wants and woes. it also packs all sorts of juicy tutorials like tricky winged eyeliner, perfectly bold red lips, and hair techniques from simple to sexy.

it’s a total bummer that amazing face is available exclusively in australia at the moment because my face needs this book.

any of my aussie readers want to send me one? :)

the accent manicure3

{please pardon the iphone photography}

it’s here, it’s here! my first day at hobo is today and i’m *so* excited.

i’m sure there will be much to report in the days ahead, but for now i wanted to share my new accent manicure – it’s essie’s smooth sailing on four fingers with two coats of opi’s last friday night (tough to find – from the katy perry collection) on each bling finger.

have you tried this trend? i kind of love it!

moody beauty a la scarlett johansson5

i absolutely adore this shot of scarjo swiped from one of my new favorite blogs. maybe it’s her wild hair or that insane turquoise butterfly necklace, but i’m so super smitten by her moody makeup.

smudgy copper under-eyes, plummy purple lips and those arch-less brows all sum up to one sultry scarlett and i just had to find the perfect products to recreate this pretty face:

think this look is one you can find an occasion for? i really want to try it!

tan-talizing: guerlain terracotta mosaic tan enhancing bronzer4

happy monday, beauties! is it gloomy where you are today? cloud cover in dc has me craving a little sun-kissed shimmer so i went out on the hunt for something to enhance the teensy bit of color i’ve acquired this month (thank you, multiple looooong highschool graduations on shade-less football fields) without channeling snooki.

so i returned to an old favorite.

guerlain’s terracotta bronzer marks the arrival of summer each year and this season’s version is an absolute stunner. amazingly chic golden tones make up  a mosaic pattern that makes me feel like i’m back in the mediterranean. this is the most high quality, luxurious bronzer on the market and a dusting over your existing tan will have you looking so south beach.

guerlain’s terracotta mosaic tan enhancing bronzer is a limited edition, available at sephora for $69.

thursday purseday: modcloth ‘through the post’ clutch6

pardon my boston accent, but i am wicked depressed that this through the post clutch is out of stock on modcloth. i mean, could it be any cuter?

i think not.

so i’m saying my “notify me on restock” prayers and filing this one under missed opportunity.

don’t you hate when that happens?

john masters organics bare unscented body wash8

there’s a new man in my shower!

if you’re not familiar with john masters, you totally should be – his honey & hibiscus hair reconstructor is an absolute saving grace, so it’s really no surprise that this new body wash delivers in a big way.

it’s rich and hydrating, leaving skin silky soft but very clean. the formula gets high marks for lather and i especially like the addition of healing, soothing vanilla – it’s just the ticket for sun kissed summer skin.

maybe best of all, i’ve found that i can also use this stuff on my face making it an awesome multitasker (and we know, i love a multitasker!). not only do gentle ingredients like sunflower cleanse without stripping skin, but the addition of white tea actually helps to reduce breakout-causing oils.

it just doesn’t get much better than that.

john masters organics bare-unscented bodywash for all skin types is available at beauty.com for $16.50.

i adore these feather earrings: all fluttery and free spirited, but still girly and refined. at just $8 a pair, you can buy all five colors!

would you wear these pretties?

bold and beautiful: givenchy le prismissime 9-colors eyeshadow0

this palette is not for the wallflowers among us – and at $62, it’s not for the thrifty, either. with nine silky, buildable shadows, limited edition le prismissime acid lights is for any and all who want to play with vivid, flashy brights.

three mini brushes hidden in a tiny compact drawer make application a breeze and the addition of a central mother-of-pearl white helps to soften the impact of the surrounding bold shades.

bottom line, this palette is pure fun and brings back all the giddy excitement of a brand new box of crayolas. for those who like to create with color, follow the rainbow to sephora where it’s exclusively available.
