i went to a party at madewell in georgetown last week (celebrating the 4th anniversary of dc scout!) and completely fell in love with this little leather pouch. the details are to die for: domed shape, the tassel – you name it! it looks absolutely adorable as a clutch (surprisingly roomy, too) and either shade of ink or bittersweet would make a perfectly seasonless addition to your army of beauty bags.
smith’s salve and lip balms are true beauty workhorses. the original rosebud salve has been around for over 100 years and i’m beginning to think that there is nothing this stuff can’t cure (chapped lips, straightener burns, and dry cuticles for starters). the minted rose formula is my favorite, favorite of the bunch. it’s less sweet than the others, with a bite of mint and the deepest tint of the group. if you’ve never tried it, the tin houses a glossy, nonsticky balm that lasts forever (since you only need a dab). fun fact: they are mixed and poured right up the road from me in maryland!
I keep this at my desk! Love it and the mint peps me up.
love that! its only minor flaw in my book is that it lives in a tin, therefore i apply it with a lip brush sooo that really only happens once a day, in the mornings. ah well, i’m still a smitten kitten!
