i’m lara, the voice behind the glossarie and for six years, i have kept it simple: just honestly positive reviews of products that work for me – in hopes that they will work for you, too.

i started the glossarie while pursuing my MBA and i am continually humbled by the bustling community of beauty lovers that it has become. these days, i live in virginia,¬†work full time in sales (which has me traveling across the country all of the time) and i’m raising my baby daughter with my sweet and supportive husband.

somewhere along the way, the glossarie became a generous and surprising source of income for my family, but above all, it has always been about sharing the best of the best in beauty. this blog and its readers mean the world to me – i’m so happy you’re here!

the privacy of my readers is of the utmost importance. i automatically collect some information from all visitors to the glossarie, however, none of this information is shared with outside parties.

the glossarie contains advertising and some contextual affiliate marketing links. this means that i may earn commission on sales of the products that i feature in my posts.

this blog has grown so far beyond my wildest dreams and i am lucky enough to receive beauty and skincare products to sample sent to me by public relations firms and direct from the brands themselves. posts that feature such products are indicated by their inclusion in the “editorial sample” category. please rest assured that my opinions on these products are completely my own and i do not accept products that require a review be written (positive or negative).

affiliate links, brand sponsorships, and pr samples are just one of the many things that keep this blog chugging along and help to ensure that i have consistently beautiful content to share with you. should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at theglossarie@gmail.com.

So, I totally stumbled across your blog while looking for fellow DMV bloggers. And basically, you have the cutest site ever. (And you look like a brunette Katherine Heigel, who is hottt.)

I’m obsessed with beauty stuff, sooo I can’t wait to scroll through everything.

    Hi Lara-

I work with your Dad, and he just showed me your website. It really looks great. I suggest you read “The 4 Hour Workweek” by Timothy Ferriss at your earliest convenience, since you have already mastered some of the key insights of the book, and I think it is full of thought provoking content on how to design a lifestyle that leverages your apparent skills.

    Best of Luck,

    Larry Candell
